Romiley, Marple & District Lions Clubs

Romiley Marple and District Lions have served the local community for over 30 years.

Each year their fund raising allows them to donate thousands of pounds to local people in need, charities and numerous worthy causes.

This work can only be carried out thanks to the efforts and enthusiasm of the members.

Fun and friendship are also important aspects of the club and many social events are enjoyed by the members and their families.

The club meets at the Navigation at Lock 13 on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month, at 8pm

Check on our calendar for the next date!

Marple Womens Institute

The Women's Institute (WI) was formed in 1915 to revitalise rural communities and encourage women to become more involved in producing food during the First World War. Since then the organisation's aims have broadened and the WI is now the largest voluntary women's organisation in the UK. The WI will celebrate its centenary in 2015 and currently has 212,526 members in around 6,600 WIs.

The WI plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.

We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, 8pm.

The Marple Website

This is the Community Website of  Marple in Cheshire, a small town near Stockport and Greater Manchester in the United Kingdom. Its purpose, in addition to providing useful information to local people and potential visitors, is to try and contribute to the community spirit. It can hopefully do this by inter-action with other interested Web users and by gaining enough feedback and support to shape it into a useful service.
